The origin of art can be traced back to the origin of mankind. Many appreciate the value of investing in art, whereas some others may argue that the money spent on art is a waste and should be redirected to do research in science and technology. I personally believe that art can play a major role in preserving the culture of a society and there is a need to promote it.
Art contributes to the society in various ways. First and foremost, the culture and the knowledge are handed over to the next generation through the work of art. When we look at the historical structures, it is evident that people living during those times used scientific principles. For instance when we look at the pyramids in Egypt it is clear that the structure is built using the theory of trigonometry. Secondly, art provides entertainment to tourists. Tourists generally visit museums to see historical artifacts. In addition to the entertainment, the artifacts also give information on the way of life in a particular era.
There are different ways of reviving art. Mainly, art can be revived by providing incentives to artists for their work. Secondly, the interest in art can be encouraged by recognizing the contribution of artists in the society. Furthermore, the art can be revived by acknowledging art as a major field of study and allocating adequate funding towards it by the government.
Art has made enormous contributions to our society in passing on knowledge from one generation to the next. Art can be promoted by increasing the government spending. In summary, there is a need to preserve the art and the government and citizens should make sufficient efforts in ensuring the same.
